WINTERMOON Autarky CD

Revisit the cold, uncompromising roots of French black metal with Autarky, the ferocious 2013 EP by French entity Wintermoon, reissued on CD in 2019 through Non Posse Mori Records. Packing blistering guitar work, freezing atmospheric melodies, and raw vocal venom across six uncompromising tracks, this release stands as a grim monument to true underground extremity. The icy assault opens with the noble, melancholic drive of Horizons of Old Beliefs, before surging headlong into the fierce declaration of Autarkic Black Metal and the frozen, bleak momentum of Cold and Ice. Adding a powerful homage to Norwegian black metal royalty, the band delivers a blistering cover of Immortal's classic Wrath from Above, before shifting into the brooding ambient instrumental Under the Fullmoon's Light. Concluding with the raw, unpolished fury of A Battle on Ice in its original rehearsal form, this CD is an essential acquisition for collectors of raw European black metal, classic Wintermoon releases, and rare Non Posse Mori Records pressings.
