WINTAAR Into Darkness We Return CD

Descend into the freezing, snowbound abyss of Russian atmospheric black metal with Into Darkness We Return, the majestic album by Siberian project Wintaar, originally recorded in 2019 and released on CD in 2020 through Non Posse Mori Records. Fusing icy melodic guitar lines, raw vocal venom, and sweeping atmospheric desolate soundscapes across ten grim compositions, this release captures the vast, bitter frost of northern wilderness. The blizzard erupts with the fierce speed of Ablaze Northwind, surging straight into the frozen melancholic beauty of Moonlight Takes the Snowy Plains and the rapid hostility of Plague, Death, Pestilence. The record deepens its dark spell with the piercing riffs of Scars of Remembrance, culminating in the sprawling eight-minute epic With the Frost on the Light-Splinter. Pushing further into icy pagan folklore with The Spirit of Mengkva and the gloomy weight of The Grey Snow Beneath Wintergraves, the album presses onward through The Fate of Humlalt and Beyond End of Autumn, before drawing to a solemn close with the haunting finale The Longing. Essential for collectors of true raw atmospheric black metal, Siberian underground dark metal, and premier Non Posse Mori Records releases.
