SKELETON OF GOD Primordial Dominion CD

Originally formed in Denver, Colorado, the death metal band Skeleton of God released their debut full-length album, Primordial Dominion, in 2008 through their own label, United Dimensions. However, the record gained significantly wider recognition and cult status following its official reissue by the Italian label Everlasting Spew Records in September 2016. This album is a landmark in the niche subgenre of Psychedelic Brutal Death Metal, blending the crushing weight and grinding speed of bands like Suffocation with mind-bending, trippy atmosphere and experimental doom passages. The album features eleven tracks, including Tentacle Gears, Cerebral Vipers, and Dark Energy, which collectively showcase the band's ability to transition from chaotic technicality to trance-like, ethereal soundscapes. The lineup for this recording consisted of Jeff Kahn on vocals and guitars, Erik Stenflo on drums, and Joel DiPietro on bass. DiPietro, who was also known for his work in Exit-13, passed away in 2015, shortly before the Everlasting Spew reissue brought the band's unique psycho-death sound to a new generation of listeners. Recorded at Smoke Signal Studios and mixed by Bob Ferbrache, the production is dense and otherworldly, perfectly complementing the cosmic and philosophical themes of the lyrics. The Everlasting Spew version revamped the release with new slipcase CD packaging, vinyl editions, and digital availability for the first time, ensuring that the 42-minute trip into madness was preserved for the extreme metal underground.
