SILICOSE Au Fond de la Mine CD

Step into the oppressive, suffocating atmosphere of French crust punk and raw extreme metal with Au Fond de la Mine, the intense 2023 CD album by French outfit Silicose, co-released through Acid Vicious and Remparts Productions. Delivering a bleak, socially charged onslaught of razor-sharp riffs, relentless rhythms, and fierce vocal intensity across eleven crushing tracks, this release paints a dark, visceral portrait of working-class struggle and industrial decay. The album opens with the ominous intro Le chant des mineurs de Trieux, charging headlong into the raw, suffocating speed of La poussière dans les poumons, Coups de rivelaine, and L'odeur du grisou. The aggression deepens with the heavy momentum of Un jour tout s'effondrera, La grève, and the violent fury of Massacre patronale and Cité ouvrière. Continuing its unrelenting assault through Lueur lointaine and the crushing weight of L'éboulement, the record reaches an unexpected, poignant conclusion with a gritty, furious cover of Ennio Morricone's iconic anthem Here's to You Sacco and Vanzetti. Crucial for collectors of underground French crust, raw metallic punk, and gritty subterranean releases.
