INSECURITY Tales from the Dreamworld CD

The 2024 EP Tales from the Dreamworld by the Chilean band Insecurity, released as a professional 3-panel CD digipak via the Portuguese label Selvajaria Records, is a high-velocity masterclass in Crossover Thrash. Hailing from Santiago and active since 2016, the band has built a reputation for blending the aggressive technicality of Bay Area thrash with the raw, street-ready attitude of hardcore punk. This EP, officially released by the label in December 2024 and limited to 200 copies, serves as a powerful follow-up to their 2022 debut, Intruder of Reality, further refining their "pure and fast" sonic assault. The record features eight tracks that maintain a relentless mosh-ready energy, beginning with the haunting intro The Last Delusion (A Dirge...) before exploding into tracks like Distressing Insomnia Nights and Try Not Fall. A significant highlight of the EP is the inclusion of two expertly chosen covers: Monstrosity by the American thrashers Doomwatch and a medley of Rampage / Nothing Uncommon by the cult NJ thrash band Faith or Fear. The production, handled by José Jara at 13 Stvdio, captures the band's balance of crunchy riffs and melodic leads, while the physical edition is enhanced by a 12-page booklet and cover art by Sebastian Frigerio, emphasizing the Dreamworld concept.
