DEBRIDEMENT Vomited Forth from the Earth CD

Hailing from Coleraine, Northern Ireland, the brutal death metal project Debridement released the EP Vomited Forth from the Earth in February 2017 through the German label Rotten Roll Rex. While often associated with the UK extreme scene, the project is actually a one-man endeavor led by the multi-instrumentalist Connor, who is also a member of the band Oncology. The EP is a concentrated dose of Slamming Brutal Death Metal and Goregrind, characterized by downtuned, hyper-groove riffing, guttural vocals, and a raw, punishing production style that caters to fans of the most extreme corners of the genre. The EP consists of seven tracks, including a cover of Dead and Buried by the legendary death metal band Mortician, which serves as a major stylistic influence on the project's sound. To add variety to the vocal assault, Connor collaborated with several prominent figures from the underground scene, featuring guest vocal appearances by Chris (from Kastrated and Crepitation), Geoff (from Oncology), Darren (from Warpath), and John (formerly of Brodequin). Lyrically, the work indulges in grotesque and medical themes typical of the goregrind genre, with song titles such as Baptised in Colorectal Juice and Full on Fallopian Fungus. This release solidified Debridement's reputation for delivering caveman style slams and uncompromising brutality, eventually paving the way for the full-length album Drowning in a Cesspool of Malform and Malady a year later.
