BULLWORTH Day by Day CD

The French band Bullworth, hailing from Paris, released their debut and only full-length album titled Day by Day in 2008 through the Czech label Bizarre Leprous Production. This record stands out in the label's catalog for its focus on a heavy, groovy style of Old School Death Metal that prioritizes powerful riffs and dark atmospheres over the frantic speed of grindcore. The recording lineup for this release featured vocalist Peter Hertz, guitarists Adrien Lederer and Julien Chanut, bassist Duff Rodriguez, and drummer Junior Rodriguez. The album is comprised of ten tracks, including the title song Day by Day and others such as The Curse of Trench and Purveyor of Hate, totaling nearly fifty minutes of music. One of the most notable aspects of this release is the presence of high-profile guest musicians from the international metal scene, including Ola Lindgren of the Swedish band Grave and Eric Klinger of the American hardcore band Pro-Pain, both of whom contributed guitar solos. Produced and engineered by Peter Hertz and Francis Caste, the album achieved a polished and crushing sound that blended European death metal traditions with a modern edge. Despite Bullworth being a relatively short-lived project, Day by Day remains a respected piece of the French extreme metal scene from the late 2000s, particularly for its professional execution and its ability to bridge the gap between different eras of death metal.
