BIOLENCE Violent Obliteration CD

The 2025 album Violent Obliteration by the Portuguese band Biolence, released as a professional CD (limited to 400 copies) through a joint effort between Doomed Records, Ragingplanet, and Selvajaria Records, is a devastating showcase of Death Thrash Metal. Hailing from Vila Nova de Gaia and active since 1998, the band celebrated over 25 years of existence with what they described as their most cohesive and aggressive record to date. Released on September 1, 2025, the album was recorded and produced at Darkhammer Studios, resulting in a sharp, powerful sound that captures the band's no-frills, old-school intensity while exploring lyrical themes of war, biological destruction, and human corruption. The album is structured as an extermination rite, consisting of eleven tracks that total nearly 50 minutes of sonic battery. It opens with the atmospheric Theatre of War (Intro), setting a cinematic and grim tone that leads directly into high-velocity assaults like Pit of Degradation and Humanity Executioner. Standout tracks such as Heavy Artillery and Extermination Through Mutation the latter featuring a prominent music video showcase the dual-guitar precision of David and César, complemented by the versatile, sandpaper-rough vocals that shift between thrash shouts and brutal death growls. The record maintains its relentless momentum through songs like Worlds Plague and the title track Violent Obliteration, before reaching its climax with 50 Caliber Freedom and the aggressive F.U.B.A.R., finally concluding with the eerie instrumental Ashes of the End (Outro). This release stands as a monumental pillar in the 2025 Portuguese metal calendar, reaffirming Biolence's status as veterans who remain as fierce and relevant as ever.
