Velar is a collaborative project between two well-known figures in the Portuguese underground: Belial Necro (known for his work with Abismo and Summon) and Peter Tosher (associated with Angst and Pledge). Together, they crafted the album Os Anjos Não Velam os Mortos, which stands as a profound work of Funeral Doom Metal, released through Prophetical Productions. The album is structured into four expansive and mournful themes that dive deep into the abyss of human suffering and the silence of the afterlife. The synergy between Belial Necro and Peter Tosher results in a sound that is incredibly heavy and suffocating, characterized by glacial tempos, cavernous growls, and melodic guitar lines that evoke a sense of eternal mourning.
