UNIDAD TRAUMA Paradigma Egocéntrico Fatalista CD

The EP is a haunting concept record that recounts the tragic 1999 Tokaimura nuclear accident in Japan, specifically focusing on the 83-day struggle of Hisashi Ouchi, who was exposed to massive amounts of radiation. The lyrics explore the perspective of the doctors who kept him alive under extreme suffering, questioning the ethics and egocentric paradigm of medical intervention at any cost. The music mirrors this harrowing narrative through its eight chapters, beginning with the somber Prefacio – Lúgubre Estela en um Sol Naciente and moving into high-velocity tracks like Cap. 1 – Del Tratamiento al Tormento and Cap. 2 – Cherenkov – Respirando Dolor, which references the blue radioactive glow Ouchi witnessed. The record continues its clinical descent with Cap. 3 – Enfermedad Manifiesta, Cap. 4 – 3 Veces 3 (Día 59), and Cap. 5 – Intacto Corazón, showcasing a sound that has been compared to the technical savagery of Cattle Decapitation and the medical gore of early Carcass. The final stages of the EP, including Cap. 6 – A Su Merced (Día 83) and the Conclusión Paradigma Egocéntrico en una Intervención Médica, bring the narrative to a chilling and dissonant end.
