POP-A-SQUAT Inhale the Stench CD

Hailing from Los Angeles, California, the pornogrind and goregrind act Pop-A-Squat released their debut full-length album, Inhale the Stench, in April 2016 through the German label Splatter Zombie Records. The band is known for their irreverent and provocative themes, focusing on a mix of weed culture, scatological humor, and crude sexual references, all delivered with the stomp aesthetic typical of the Splatter Zombie roster. The lineup for this release included Coyoton on vocals, Monty on guitars, and Cannabowl on drums, with guest appearances from members of other underground acts like Oldbeast and Vomit. The CD version of the album is structured into three distinct sections—Exclusives, Private Reserve, and Top Shelf—totaling 19 tracks of dank and groovy goregrind. The Exclusives section features new material like the title track Inhale the Stench and La Piñata Tiene Caca, while the other sections include older tracks, re-recordings, and bonus material such as Defecated Edibles and Dankruptsy. Musically, the album utilizes the classic ingredients of the genre: low-tuned, buzzing guitars, drums that often have a tin can snare sound, and a variety of pitch-shifted vocals ranging from deep gutturals to pig squeals. The record also heavily incorporates humorous intro samples from various media, further emphasizing the band's playful and underground spirit.
