NORTHHEART Forest CD

Northheart is an atmospheric ambient and minimalist musical project from France that explores deep, meditative nature worship and isolation through sound. In 2023, the project released its immersive and expansive EP titled Forest, brought to the underground community as a limited-edition three-panel digipak CD by the independent French label Acid Vicious. Standing out for its massive track lengths, the release relies on long-form, hypnotic soundscapes, layering subtle synthesizers, droning textures, and environmental imagery to transport the listener into the heart of a silent, untouched woodland. The EP is composed of just two monolithic compositions, beginning with the twelve-minute epic Dream Of Her. This opening track sets a profoundly melancholic, drifting tone, relying on slow sonic evolutions and airy synth pads to build a deeply nostalgic and dreamlike trance. This wave of isolation seamlessly transitions into the record's final, staggering movement, Leafs Cradled By Wind, which stretches over nearly eighteen minutes. This massive piece acts as the ultimate thematic anchor for the EP, fully embracing a minimalist, organic layout that captures the gentle, unhurried essence of the natural world, sealing the record with an enduring sense of cold, pastoral beauty.
