DJINN Fuck Vessel CD

The 2021 album Fuck Vessel by the project Djinn, released on January 25 by the Portuguese label Nekrogoat Heresy Productions, is a collaborative work of visceral Atmospheric Black Metal. The project brings together two prominent figures from the international underground: Old, an Australian musician known for his work in Drohtnung, Old Believer's Totem (OBT), and the influential Woods of Desolation, and MT, a French artist known for his projects K.F.R, Saturnian Tempel, and De Vermiis Mysteriis. This cross-continental partnership resulted in a sound that is both haunting and physically abrasive, with parts of the album notably recorded in the catacombs of Paris, adding a layer of authentic, subterranean claustrophobia to the music. The album is structured into eight tracks, beginning and ending with an intro and outro that frame the central experience. The core of the record consists of expansive and grim compositions like Enter The Vessel, Blood In The House Of The Holy, Congregation Of The Sick, and the title track Fuck Vessel. The songwriting is characterized by a blend of hypnotic synths, raw war drums, and shrieking vocals, culminating in the ten-minute epic Astral Temple. Originally conceived as a digital release in 2017, the 2021 physical edition by Nekrogoat Heresy was strictly limited to 200 copies on CD, making it a highly sought-after artifact for fans of uncompromising, avant-garde black metal that explores themes of sickness, death, and spiritual degradation.
