ATER ERA Clades CD

Hailing from Slovenia, the black metal band Ater Era released their third studio album, Clades, in November 2017 through the label On Parole Productions. This record represents a sophisticated evolution of the band's sound, which is often described as Psycho-Atmospheric Black Metal due to its blend of raw black metal aggression, doom-laden tempos, and hypnotic psychedelic textures. The lineup for this release consisted of founding member Ais on guitars and vocals, Kast on bass, and S.V. on drums, a trio that recorded the album in a secluded forest setting to better capture the organic and mystical essence of their music. The album is structured around five long-form tracks Sanguis, Portal, Clades, The Inward Eye, and Aura which move away from traditional song structures in favor of immersive, flowing soundscapes. Lyrically and conceptually, Clades explores deep philosophical themes, consciousness, and the darker side of human existence, mirroring the dense and layered production of the music itself. By integrating dissonant riffs with long, trance-like instrumental passages, Ater Era solidified their position as one of the most innovative acts in the Slovenian extreme metal scene, moving beyond the boundaries of orthodox black metal to create a truly haunting and individualistic experience.
