The 2015 compilation The Rituals by the Portuguese band A Tree of Signs, co-released by Ragingplanet and Chaosphere Recordings, is a comprehensive collection that gathers the early occult-driven works of one of Portugal's most distinctive doom metal acts. The release serves as a bridge between the band's initial EPs and their later full-length material, showcasing their transition from raw, stoner-inflected doom to a more complex, ritualistic, and atmospheric sound. The project features a notable lineup of veteran Portuguese underground musicians, including Nocturnus Horrendus (of Corpus Christii) and V-Kaos, centered around the haunting and powerful vocals of Diana Silveira on the later tracks. The compilation is organized into eight tracks that reflect different eras of the band's evolution, including the material from their 2012 EP Salt and the 2014 single Saturn. The tracklist includes Greate Python, Booke Of Silence, Red Lune, Sol & Sea, and Of The Division Of Chaos (originally featuring V-Kaos), followed by the Diana Silveira-fronted tracks Saturn, Red Lune II, and Red Lune III. The collection concludes with a powerful tribute to the roots of black metal: a cover of Darkthrone's Beholding The Throne Of Might.
